Mogudu (2011) Telugu Movie Review.

Before I start rating this movie, I want to make one thing clear. I was informed, and was under this impression that Krishna Vamsi does not write script and he improvises on the sets. I thought its a good quality not to care about any thing and make movies like Ninne Pelladutha or Gulabi, Sindooram, Antahpuram or even few latest movies till Mahatma. I always wanted to assist him, one of the most respected technician in Telugu Film Industry. Now that I have told this ……

Let me tell you one thing about MOGUDU – A movie full of Nonsense and worthless crap. The basic theme of the movie is the same old story but Director tries re-sell it in a new jar, but definitely fails to impress.

Rating – Dont Care – Its not worth it.

Story: Its a simple story, Hero’s Father Rajendra Prasad is a farmer with big heart and family. He has 3 daughters and one son (Gopi Chand), since he has 3 daughters, you also get to see 3 son-in-laws and few kids. So, its a big family. Like every father Rajendra Prasad wants his to get married, later he falls in love with Taapsee pannu and decides to get married. Taapsee’s mother is a politician Roja and her husband is Naresh who is also Rajendra Prasad’s Child hood friend. Family – Family meets likes each other and the lead characters get married, here comes the twist, for stupid reason they have a fight, in no time one thing leads to another and they hit each other and they decide to get separated (Divorce). Pissed off Hero goes to mauritius to take some time off and Taapsee follows him there as she sees him with Shradda Das, who wants to hook up with Gopichand. Jealousy eats her and in no time they fall in love again and get married once again and return to India. Once again both families fight and decide to end it over stupid high drama.

The story sounds simple yet complicated ……

The + Points:

I wish I can say at least one.

The – Points:

1. Story is simple, how many times can we see same thing again and again. Honestly tired of stories.

2. Screenplay, not even one scene where you will enjoy or say its different or this visual is worth Rs. 150/-.

3. Taapsee Pannu – a big minus point for the film, Reason one – her dubbing, its so bad that she sounds like chinese speaking lady with voice like Rakhi Sawant (Sorry Pannu for being rude). Reason 2 – her facial expressions, I wish i understand them, its confusing and not cute even a bit. Reason 3 – Acting.

4. Krishna Vamsi Sir (With all do respect) – Sir its time to cut big families, crying, laughing – its getting bored. Its my personal opinion, in contrary families like movies like this, but since youngsters watch movies for the first 2 days, word of mouth spreads. Sit I think you should not let heroins dub for themselves, I know that its a good thing but after watching this movie, no one will ever make mistake like that.

5. Honestly the movie doesn’t have singles song that is mood lifting or that will you forget the previous bad scene.

6. Shradda Das who is guest actress looks better than Taapsee and not even her sexy song will save this movie.

7. Finally Gopichand, a potential actor in this generation who can emerge as the action and family Hero chooses a movie that will turn out to be another flop film in his kitty. His acting is good, some how the crying scenes didnt fit his image.

8. In second Half when Gopichand decides to travel to Mauritius,  Shradda Das is on a shoot for Kingfisher Calender shoot, with out any models or crew. And Taapsee decides to travel to London and Europe but after watching Gopi with Shradda Das, she decides to follow them. I thought one need VISA to travel abroad, I think my travel agent is cheating me. Let me know what kind of passport they hold, if any one can find out.

9. At airport scene – they start at Hyderabad International airport and then the next scene they are at prasads (Barista, Subway, Sangeet Sagar) – In this scene Taapsee will be planning to follow them.

10. I almost forgot the characters names, after few minutes of thinking – Taapsee character name is Raja Rajeshwari and Gopi character name is, I think Ram or Bujji. This one will definitely be out of mind after this nights sleep.

Nevertheless I am sure both GOPICHAND and KRISHNA VAMSI will make a come back with better movie, that will make every one forget this movie. Guys watch this movie at your own risk.

One Last thing: If you dont agree with me on this movie’s review I understand but at least I have spent Rs. 150/- on this movies and watched it. No matter what Krishna Vamsi Sir, I will keep watching your movies no matter how many times you make such stupid movies. At least 5 couples have exited the theater while watching the movie and at least 25 people left the premises before the end credits and I sat till the end, one of the reason was I hate to disturb my fellow audience who are waiting for a miracle to happen. Poor Guys, most of them are disappointed and I dont want to be a —– to that pain.

To come out of this Movie I have decided to watch MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING in Full HD on my LED. Like they its all greek to me and what ever Taapsee’s dialogues were in this movie, they are GREEK to me.

Welcome to Cinema. Not senseless comedy or pointless action or even illogical CG, this is a science fiction, and bit original movie on Bodhidharma. Welcome to a movie that tells you not forget our culture and our ancient history and reminds you the importance of it.

Movie starts with Pallava king Bodhidharma leaving Kanchipuram on Gurumatha’s orders – reahces China, though first he was considered as evil, later he was respected and considered as god for his Martial arts and Medical knowledge. He teaches every one, self defense arts and medical science in curing dangerous diseases. One day when he decides to return to India, chinese people poison as they think its good for their country if Bodhidharma dies on their land. He accepts the poison food and dies on their land, but before leaving India Bodhidharma’s parents were left with a book of all secrets and all his life work for future descendants.

Now the present day, Shuba (Shruthi Hasan) Who is a student happen to be researching on Bodhidharma, who thinks that she can bring back the powers and memories of Bodhidharma through (Surya – who belongs to Bodhidharma family) DNA mapping. Surya’s DNA happens to match with his ancestor, Bodhidharma’s by 83.74% to be precise. This theory was submitted to chinese, Indian and American government for human testing but rejected as Indian lam doesnt support this. As chinese come to know about this, they decide to start a Bio-war on India, and in order to keep all the Knowledge provided by Bodhidharma to themselves – they decide to send Dong Lee (Johnny Tri Nguyen) who is an expert at martial arts and a strange hypnotism  (Which was learnt from Bodhidharma) to start injecting the virus in to Indian people. Only way that these can be saved is to bring back Bodhidharma through Surya and save the people.

This is the story, which is good in fact better than recent stupid, time pass movies. I know movie is for entertainment but it is also meant of educating people, inspiring people – what ever I learnt, the good the bad is all because of movies. This is one movie which will teach to learn the importance of our culture, small things that we do sankranthi or ugadi is for our own good. We are definitely forgetting our culture, this movie will remind you of that at the same time will also give you some entertainment.

Now the + points:

1. Movie Story and first 20 – 30 minutes of Bodhidharma’s story is good. This is the highlight of the movie.

2. The first song, an intro of present surya working at Bombay Circus, the timing of the song is so odd but the way it takes off with Flash Mob is awesome. I love flash Mob, wish we can such Mob for good reasons dancing on Tank Bund at Hyderabad or on M.G.Road in Bangalore – For Global Warming, or for Green Bangalore.

3.  All songs are good though timing is bad, but it wait till it steals your heart.

4. Surya, Surya, Surya ……….. This should be the first point but I am wanna be director I believe in story and direction.

5. Shruthi Hasan is good, in this movie she had a full length character – she delivered her best, dancing, crying, laughing, showing anger, she is Good.

5. Finally Murugadoss, a mean behind all this – No matter what he is one such director who will never disappoint you. I am trying to bring your hope high on this  movie, but this movie definitely has a point, a theme that is true. Murugadoss did his best in proving his point and also mixing the commercial elements in this science fiction, thriller movie.

7. Second Half action sequence on the road when Dong Lee tries to kill Surya and Shruthi, Hypnotism concept is hard to digest when you dont believe it, but once you do (Which happens to be true, but who knows about all these sutras) its great and treat. Honestly try googling it you might find some info on it. The Computer Graphics are not that good, but it solves the purpose of the scene, definitely worth watching it.

Now the – Points:

1. The screenplay, second half could have been better.

2. I am not just saying it with out reason, watch the movie – Point one, after the road accident scene, entire conversation at graveyard is pretty low, this could have been better. May be Tamil movie might sound better.

3. Point two, with the virus spreading all over, this song and few sequences – could have been even more elevating, warning before the best climax. When you starting thinking about all this the low approach towards the end might disappoint you. But nevertheless I couldn’t think of any thing better than this.

4. When you choose concepts like this, you are bound to make small mistakes but the good thing Murugadoss pulled it off with minor things, which are hardly noticeable.

All I can tell you is that this is a movie about India, Our kings, Our Culture – No matter how western we sound we are still desi’s at heart and I think this movie is definitely worth a watch at least twice. Watch it guys you wont be disappointed, Nice songs (Harris Jayaraj music), Handsome surya for Girls, Beautiful Shruthi for Guys like me and some wonder full action mass and Culture for family.

Its time to know our ancestors and our history ………. INDIA ROCKS.

Saw the movie @ PRASAD IMAX.

Big screen, the best place to watch movies. I enjoyed it after boring yesterday. Now if you agree with them comment below or even just click thumbs up or down. Respect movies, the kind of work technicians put in to entertain you and teach you something nice. I am bot saying this movie will steal your heart, but it will definitely make you think about all this at least once.

MURUGADOSS you rock.

One last thing every time you yell this word “shit” or “f**k” – try yelling it in telugu, kannada or tamil and see what people reaction will be.  

If there is any thing that I love the most in this word – that is movies and I predicted that this movie will be a poor. Not just for this movie, i do have predictions for all movies and most of the times I will be correct, but I always watch them no matter what because I love movies. There is nothing called as Good Movie or Bad Movie, or at least I want to think so. But sometimes along comes a movie like Ra.One which will make you think ………..

First things First – Before the movie release there was this news gossip saying that the Ra.One poster where Shahrukh was holding Kareena in his arms, they said it is a copy of Batman poster. I say the entire movie is a copy, mixed mock of other few movies. In the first few minutes of the movie you will decide that the movie is stupid (Sanjay and Priyanka were wasted). I dont normally  have headaches while watching movies, infact I dont even remember when I last had one while watching movies.

Our scared Hero is a video game designer/programmer having a family in London who is Tamilian. Kareena is beautiful house wife and their kid is just like any other 10 or 12 years old boy who likes video games and wants his father to be a super hero. Hero designs a video game where Villain (Ra.One) is more powerful than Hero (G.One) – the game has simple 3 levels and you have to defeat the guy in these 3 levels. But the twist is that the program understands itself  and come out the game in to real world when Hero’s son beats him in the first level, I think the poor ones ego was hurt, so he decides to kill the kid (Who calls himself Lucifer). Hero says he is Lucifer and dies in hands of this stupid ego-manic Ra.One who can take any human form. Now the good guy G.one takes form and become the savior of of the Kid and the rest is how he saves the kid.

+ points of the movie:

1. None.

2. For the first time i thought Kareena is sexy, beautiful and ravishing. She is good in her character.

3. I need to say that Criminal song was good, great choreography. Rest all songs are great on Youtube to watch.

4. Few nice dialogues.

- Points of the Movie:

1. The movie is pointless and stupid.

2. How could a video game program takes a human form even if it does it doesnt make any sense in this movie.

3. First few scenes are waste, Whats the need to have Sanjay, Priyanka, and the Dupe of Rajnikant.

4. Graphics are so lame its worst than B grade hollywood movie. My PS3 game graphics are better than this ones.

5. Movie is so boring and most of it doesnt make any sense.

6. Even kids will have headache.

7. Climax fight sequence is so C grade. Graphics are worst, now I know what Shankar is – He is GOD when you think of such crazy movies, he has got what it takes to make such movie entertaining.

8. Entertainment is missing.

9. Hardly any scene where you will laugh.

10. One final thing the movie is so noisy and confusing – I wonder where they have spent all that 175 crores.

11. With that kind of money Yfilms would have made at least 30 movies with at least 100 new talents.

12. I talk on and on about this project and tell you the negative points but lets just save it for your self.

13. Why is this movie Ra.One and not G.one ?

14. Anubhav Sinha – How did he pull this off? I know the market is big but still with a stupid movie like this will they make 200 crores to see profits. If they do then we will have to learn how and may be recreate and rewrite all marketing strategies and planning for all upcoming movies. If this movie makes any profit, then it will be miracle of this year or may the last decade.

After all this if you still plan to watch this movie then do it in 2K screeen and not in some stupid analog theatre. And spending even 200 bucks on this movie is a waste, wait for its DVD and rent it or buy and watch it.

Saw the movie at INOX, Hyderabad.

Screen 5: Qube Technology – I have to say this that this screen and sound system is worst than any normal screen. Clarity sucks and INOX is the first one to increase ticket prices in Hyderabad to 150 from 100. I wonder why, because none of their screens are 2K and compared to Prasadz, these are way worst. To all my Bangalore friends watch it in Urvashi 4k, at least the awesome sound system and screen clarity will make you feel that you are watching a high quality movie.
